Self care Sunday. I usually have one day a week to do something to fill my energy cup and this weekend I was so grateful to be able to attend @danaewellness 1st birthday meditation out at #newgisborne and taking a day to enjoy the outdoors.

Раньше при слове медитация у меня возникали ассоциации: весёлые люди в ярких шафрановых одеяниях, идущие по Дерибасовской( хари кришна, хари рама), буддийские храмы, монахи... 🤦♀️

Intense Breath out, wake up your face and lighten up your practice is not so silly Simhasana. This asana encourages you to showcase your fierce side. It facilitates the energy locks inside the body and also helps clear the passage of the throat. This posture is said to be one of the best face exercises. It helps circulate blood in the face, and also reduces crow’s feet and wrinkles. The skin on the face is stretched, and therefore, it remains firm. This asana also keeps the platysma strong. It is a fun asana that keeps you revived and happy
Helps reduce stress and tension on the chest and the face.
It stimulates the platysma ( a thin, flat, rectangular muscle that lies on the front of the throat). It keeps this muscle firm as we continue to age.
Old texts say that this asana destroys diseases and activates the three major bandhas – Mula, Jalandhara, and Uddiyana.
These are the parts this asana benefits – the face, eyes, tongue, throat, vocal chords, abdomen, respiratory tract, diaphragm, chest, hands, and the fingers.
It helps get rid of any infection that affects the respiratory tract.
It helps exercise the tongue owing to the full stretch outside the mouth.
It helps get rid of bad breath.
It cures stuttering, teeth grinding, clenched jaws, and back pains.
It helps remove wrinkles and delays aging.
It relieves burning eyes.
It also relaxes the neck muscles.

It's reaching one of my favorite times of the year where we have an annual getaway retreat and honestly this year I'm very pleased to go... we so deserve it!
The Lord promises us rest and when we get it were so grateful for the time to reflect and restore. When the Lord keeps this promise to us each year it's so exciting to see it realized.
When you see the promises of the Lord come alive does it not increase your faith? Especially when it's ones we directly us.
We briefly considered the possibility of cancellation this year due to the fact of our relocated in 2 weeks but I felt we really needed to keep the time. With all that is going on taking time for us seems so selfish.
Faith however is not always about depriving yourselves of enjoyment but actually embracing the rewards is! The Lord is blessing you with a joyful reward. Who are you to say no?
Be gracious...be thankful....He loves you and He's letting you know thru your rewards.

This resonates so very much today. I had 3 special ladies stay after class today, and separately express how my sound classes have impacted them in their lives. Two were former students who both moved to other states & happened to be back in town on the same day. Every time someone shares about their life experience/personal journey with me, I feel honored & grateful to be a tiny piece on their path. Teaching at studios will not make me wealthy monetarily, but the connections I make with people are priceless - it’s the why of my “work”. Tomorrow’s women’s 🌙 gathering is ALL about this. Doing yoga, eating well & living a healthy lifestyle is not going to guarantee you never falling sick because you cannot control the quality of the air you breathe and the infections and bacteria in that air but what you can control is how strong your body and mind is to fight it. To live a healthy lifestyle is to make your body strong enough to fight those diseases, infections & bacterias. To make a body strong enough that it doesn't break down/ give up.
You can try every diet, join every gym, buy every supplement, search forever for a “magic pill” but if you are not mentally focused to want to change your life, it will not happen.
Changing habits to become healthier is mentally + emotionally exhausting.
We’re constantly tempted with cravings, staying up too late, weekend binging, donuts at work when you’re having a stressful day, parties, etc.
Which is why adding GOOD habits is easier than cold turkey stopping BAD habits. It’s mentally easier to make goals for yourself like “today i’m going to drink two 32 oz water bottles full of water by 10 pm” then to say “i’m going to run 5 miles daily at 5 am”. Make your goals small and attainable then you will gradually meet your biggest goals.
