  • Coming home from a holiday’s not such a bad thing when you live in Byron. It’s cooling off here but I’ve still been in the ocean every day since I got back from Bali (with some gentle nudging by @eat.breathe.yoga). I wonder whether I’ll manage to keep it up through winter?? •

  • Old doesn’t mean always bad, but once you start to let go of some old habits you immediately create space for something new which can be even more excited or beneficial for you.
Surprise your body with new moves, if your are doing just yoga start with gymnastics, swimming or with something what you have done as a child 🧒 #yoga #movement #yogagang #yogagirl #yogainspo

Parsvakonasana — is a common standing yoga pose that stretches and strengthens your entire body. This challenging variation opens the shoulders and chest even further! In Sanskrit, it is called Baddha Utthita Parsvakonasana .
Broken down, this name is translated as:
"Baddha" — meaning "bound"
"Utthita" — meaning "extended"
"Parsva" — meaning "side" or "flank"
"Kona" — meaning "angle"
"Asana" — meaning "pose"

Benefits of Bound Side Angle Pose
Baddha Utthita Parsvakonasana has all of the same benefits as Utthita Parsvakonasana, including:

1.Relieved stiffness in the shoulders and back
2.Deep stretch to the groins and hamstrings
3.Improved stamina
4.Strengthened legs, knees, and ankles
5.Stretched and toned abdominal muscles
6.Therapeutic for constipation, infertility, sciatica, menstrual discomfort, and low backache
7.This variation has the added bonus of opening your chest and shoulders while improving your body’s overall balance! It will build flexibility in your upper body, arms, and shoulders. It will also quickly tone your hips, butt, and thighs.

Igen én, aki eddigi egész életében a pörgéséről volt híres. A cirkusz, amikor több projekten dolgozol, egyszerre két meeting van beírva a naptáradba, edzést tartasz, diétát írsz, két iskolába jársz, vállalkozást vezetsz, e-mailezel. Puja, which is a ritual containing the worship of the supreme, is sometimes presented in 5 limbs. The first two are limbs of preparation: getting up, cleaning the body, dressing in fresh clean clothes etc. And then also preparing the offering for the puja, gathering the items required, cutting the fruit, plucking the flowers, cleaning the space where the puja is to be performed and so on.
Now the third limb is called yoga. In this context yoga means to connect to the context of the worship. It means to first of all meditate on our true nature as an eternal spiritual being. It starts by embrasing that we are not this body but eternal spiritual Sparks, parts and parcels of the supreme being. And then it also means to meditate on the nature of the supreme. The Vedic hymns are filled with prayers, poems and meditations on the form, non-form, qualities, names and unlimited nature of the supreme. Internally embrasing the concept of our true self and our relationship to god, in puja, is called yoga.

Once we connected to our nature then icha, the actual worship starts. How puja works would be a whole lecture in itself (happy to share if someone's interested). The last limb then is svadhyaya, which here represents the aftermath of the puja. It is the cleaning up, the distributing of the offerings, the prayers for forgiveness and blessings, the contemplation on the performed act.

Studying the Vedic culture is an amazing tool to broaden our understanding of such unlimited terms like yoga.
Om tat sat.

  • Join me May 20-25 in Bali for the Gods of Yoga 50hr YTT to learn the origin stories of the asana!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This pose is gaining so much popularity lately! Owl pose, or ulukasana, as a variation of malasana, is named for Lakshmi.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The goddess of prosperity and abundance, Dewi Sri Lakshmi, is often depicted riding a snowy white barn owl. White owls are seen as good omens of wealth throughout much of South Asia.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The theory of abundance tells us that the universe has infinite blessings in store for us, if we simply allow ourselves to open up to them and surrender to the larger plan. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The plans we make for ourselves, no matter how large we think they are, are so often small and limiting. If we simply lead through life with the heart, we open ourselves to blessings beyond our belief.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This pose opens the front of the body in surrender to the blessings and abundance of the universe. Try it with eyes closed--it was super hard! You could also do the same pose from supine, in supta baddha konasana, to the same effect.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Do you ever wake up and feel like you’ve been hit by a bus?
I did today. And on days like today I rest! My body is clearly telling me I need it. I’m not going to push myself through any workout or go for a run or feel guilty for just relaxing. Rest is just as important as any workout because it gives the body time to recover! 💪
If you struggle with resting then repeat after me: I am strong, especially on my rest days 😁
Happy Thursday 💜

  • Everyday is a second chance to live the way we didn’t yesterday.
.
.
.
Everyday I wake up there are always things on my mind, I should have of done that yesterday, I can’t believe I didn’t finish that, I wish I would have done that. Everyday that we wake up we are given another chance to do the things we wish we had already done in our lives. We must use our second chances to do good in our lives. To live life instead of just getting by and surviving. 🙏🏼 #foodforthought

Oct 19 - Nov 8, 2019 Bali RYT 200 Hour Training ⁣
March 8-29, 2020 Bali RYT 200 Hour Teacher Training⁣
⁣
You might be thinking, "Do I have to want to teach yoga to take this deep soul dive and hang out with you?" Truthfully 50% of those that take my program don't know if they want to teach yoga. They are doing it to ask themselves better questions and seek some answers to "who am I and why am I here." ⁣
⁣
Two options are available: 1) for certification or 2) for your own self-development. Honestly, you should do this for you and allow the universe to show you afterwards how and where you are needed. You don't have to have all the answers prior to making the commitment. Start before you are ready. ⁣
⁣
1. Become Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200 Hours)⁣
2. Immersion without Certification. Do as little or as much as you want.⁣
⁣
Why don't we talk about it? Book a time to chat at the link in my bio!
