As you may have heard, some members of the community were concerned about how we left Cathedral Park following Friday’s event.
.
We had the environment in mind intentionally when selecting Flutter FETTI. It is biodegradable, and their website notes that it dissolves in water. Since it is a new product, we underestimated the volume. All of our writing on the street and sidewalk was in chalk, which we always use, as we never want to leave an indelible mark that cannot be cleaned up naturally by the rain. Moving forward, we will strive to ensure we ONLY use biodegradable confetti. In the future, we will also have volunteer positions specifically focused on post-race cleanup.
.
After the race, some of our crew remained to clean up the park as much as possible (thank you again to those volunteers!). We also returned to clean up in the daylight to make sure we left as little evidence as possible that we were at the park.
.
Our environment is just as important to us as our community, and we want to ensure we’re serving both as best as possible.
.
We apologize for leaving a bad impression on the community as our intention is to bring people together in the spirit of good fun.
