  • One of the most epic views during our world trip - La Piedra, Guatapé, Colombia 😍
.
650 steps along a super windy staircase, which is built on the very edge of the rock, lead you up to the summit of La Piedra - Guatapé Rock. Swipe right to see its full beauty.
.
The view takes your breath, as gorgeous lakes are expanding in every direction you can see. Even checking this place out on Google Maps is insane.
.
What we didn't know before was that these lakes are man-made and arised when they built an enormous hydro electric power plant in the area more than 30 years ago.
.
Staying in the little town Guatapé is also worth it, as it is super artsy and has delicious restaurants with even tons of vegan choices. 🥦🥑🥕

  • Spot the monkey 🐒
.
Our first stop in Colombia, outside the capital Bogotá, brought us to this amazing place on earth. It’s quite obvious why Cocora Valley near Salento is visited by so many people. 🌴
.
This breathtaking area of Colombia is surrounded by emerald green hills and dotted with the country’s national tree – the wax palm, which can grow up to 61 meters.
.
On very rare occasions, if you look very closely, you might even spot a monkey trying/failing to climb the palm trees. 😜

  • Take a step and see what happens ✨
.
Many people come to a point in their life where they are not completely happy and fulfilled. I was at this point myself and the hard question is: how to make a change when you have no idea what is the right path to go?
.
From what I have learned the single most important thing is this: Dare to make a clear decision and take the first step towards any direction that feels right. Just take the step!
.
Many tend to overthink every possible way, analysing all outcomes, while waiting for this and that to happen first.
.
Turns out that in this case you may stand your entire life in front of the same crossroad before walking an unknown path.
.
But who knows what is waiting along the way before walking it? And how do you grow personally if everything is perfectly sorted out in the first place without any obstacle to overcome?
.
If there is one thing for sure it is that some things will turn out differently than you have expected them. If you are able to embrace the unexpected, the magic will happen and suddenly things fall into place. ✨
.
Even setbacks are there for a very good reason. Make sure you listen to your inner voice and you will be surprised by amazing opportunities you would have never expected. 🙏

  • Lots of people reached out to us before and during our trip, and asked us, how you can travel for so long without working in between.
.
The truth is that we put in all the effort, and decided that the hard grind is worth to follow our dream. ✨
.
Workwise we are on a sabbatical. Meaning that half a year before we started the trip, we only got paid half the salary even though working fulltime. Additionally I also side hustled a lot on the weekends.
.
We also tremendously decreased our spendings. We thought twice before buying new things, chose to cook for ourselves over eating out, and many other things.
.
We are still thankful that life brought us this opportunity, but also we worked very hard for this to happen.
.
We truely think if it is your dream to see the world and you are willing to accept compromises, you can make it work. 🙏
.
For many people it's only about setting priorities, for others it takes way more efforts, but still there is always a way.
.
We are here to help, so reach out if you have any questions. 💛

  • Happy Easter! 🐰
.
We already made our way to our next stop: Colombia. And if you have watched our Stories from yesterday, you already know, that we unintentionally participated in a holy Easter tradition, which basically was a mass pilgrimage. 😂
.
Our goal for the day was to hike up Monserrate in Bogotá. What we didn’t know though, is that this mountain is famous for its mountaintop church and that lots of Colombians even travel here to do the hike on this special day.
.
Hence it felt like we were hiking with the whole nation. 😅 Going down we got stuck in a massiv people jam, with everybody pushing and Cory starting to slightly panic. 😶
.
Thankfully we found our own way out, and climbed down the mountain through a steep forest path, avoiding the main track. Only included the occasional one or two falls from Cory, as she slipped on some wet rocks. 😂
.
What are some Easter traditions in your country? ☺️

  • Since I was little, it was a big dream for me to come to Rio de Janeiro. 😍
.
And since I am also a big fan of the Fast and Furious movies, the desire only grew bigger after seeing the epic scene where they fly over the Jesus statue by helicopter with this insane view of Rio. 😃
.
This little dream of mine just came true yesterday, when we were up at Christo Redentor for sunset. It was magical and I had goosebumps all over. ✨ Watch our Brazil story highlight for all the feels.
.
Hence I only brought my happy face at this beautiful morning at Copacabana beach. ☺️
.
Also super happy to finally got the chance to wear my new favourite bikini from @surfsouleil. 💖 | Werbung

  • Self love is one of the hardest lessons to learn in life, but also it's one of the most rewarding. 💛
.
Once achieved you can free yourself from self-doubt, and start to life your full potential. ☺️
.
Since I (Andi) always had the highest expectations of myself, this was not an easy lesson for me to learn and I probably I am still not 100% there.
.
Especially in times I lost weight and fitness due to too much stress, I struggled the most. Always trying to eat healty (and mostly vegan) while traveling in developing countries didn't make things easier.
.
But I am happy to accept now the fact that it is far less important how you think you look, than how you feel about yourself. 🙃
.
Still looking forward to our own kitchen and us preparing tons of nutritious food. 🤣

  • A simple morning routine might have the superpower to positively change your life and those around you. 💛
.
And all that's necessary is to be happy with who you are and to carry all the happiness and positivity with you. ☺️
.
Sometimes the little things are the ones that make us smile the most and make our heart jump. Whether it is the nice waitress, that gives us a compliment we did not expect, or the stranger at the metro who helps us out without asking, just because he sensed we are kind of lost. 🙃
.
You can never know for sure which life situations people are currently stuck in or with which things they are struggling. Small gestures, as kindly smiling or striking up a positive conversation with a stranger, have an enourmous effect. They go so far, that they even make peoples' days. ☀
.
You carry an enormous gift and power within you. You can not only create the life you want for yourself, but you can also positively influence the people around you with your positive presence, joy and actions. 🙏
.
Let's all do more of such things and let's make the world a better and happier place one kind gesture at a time. ❤🥰
.
Which moment made you smile the most during the last days? 🙂🙃🙂

  • Starting the day like nothing in the world can stop us 💪
.
It was a long, adventurous journey with several setbacks until we reached (at least) this fantastic viewpoint of Sugarloaf mountain in Rio de Janeiro. 🙃
.
After a sleepless night in a room without windows, we went to the beginning of the trailhead to climb the Sugarloaf. 🧗‍♀Since we both have climbing experience and some blogs stated that there is a trail at the backside of the mountain, which is doable without a rope, we packed our torches with one goal in mind. Reaching the top to experience an amazing sunrise across Rio de Janeiro. 😃
.
Well, that was the plan at least. What we didn't expect was that our head torches were not charged, so we had to use our phones, which is not very useful if you really need your hands for free climbing slippery rocks. There is no clear route, and many times we ended up at a point, which was just impossible to climb safely without a rope. 😅
.
It's definitely a pretty risky climb, and not a hiking trek. Since the rocks where still wet, it would have been even dangerous under perfect daylight. But yes it was dark and we had no clue which way to go. 😂 So after more than one hour of climbing back and forth, we finally had to call it a try. 😏
.
We initiated plan B, went back and basically ran up the nice stairs to Sugarloafs little brother Morro da Urca, so we could at least catch the sunrise there. But as the sun rises behind the Sugarloaf, it was far too late, when we finally reached the summit. 🌄
.
It was still an incredible adventure, that will be a lasting memory and we even got rewarded with this epic view. Embracing adventures also means that not everything might turn out the way you expected it and sometimes you have to pull back. But nothing can ever stop us from having a positive mindset, joy and a loving heart during every second along way. 💛
.
PS: Yep, I did get changed on the top of the mountain. Sometimes you just have to do, what you gotta do and hide your climbing clothes which were completely covered in mud. 😂

  • Finally recharging at the beautiful beaches in Arraial Do Cabo 💛
.
After having faced floodings in Barreirinhas and also in Rio de Janeiro, we made it to this fantastic beach paradise only three hours away from Rio. 🏖
.
Water so clear and sand so fine and white, that it reminded us a lot of the famous Whitehaven beach at the Whitsunday Islands in Australia. 🌴
.
Expect for the fact that everything is a lot cheaper here and you can actually go swimming, without being afraid to touch any dangerous jellyfish. 😅
.
These days here were really needed after our Brazilian adventures and we are super grateful that we had the opportunity to see Brazilian beaches from it's brightest side. ☀️

  • Time is flying when you are having fun ✨
.
It has now already been more than 4 months ago, when we started the adventure of our lifetime. And looking back we almost can't believe what has happened during that time. 🙂🙃🙂
.
We have dived with sharks and dolphins. Climbed high mountains, went through both the desert and snow. Camped under stars, encountered beautiful wildlife and fascinating people.
.
We are so happy for every single memory, especially since we can share them with each other. Can't wait to see where our journey will lead us next during the final 2,5 months of our worldtrip. 💛

  • Deep blue water gathered between endless sand dunes 💙
.
Lencois Maranhenses seems only like a sand desert when you scramble up the first sand dune. But as soon as you reach the top, you find yourself in paradise. 💧The hard question here is which warm bath tub to use. 💦
.
If you wonder how the endless oasis (there are over 4000 lagoons 😍) can sustain in a desert, the answer is simple: lots of rain. Just the evening we arrived it rained so heavily that parts of the city nearby got flooded. The situation got so serious in the region that many houses even were destroyed.
.
We were lucky that we found a save way to leave the city and were able to fly out from Sao Luis. 🙏 Since we were also there when it had heat records in Australia with +50°C and flooding in parts of Rio de Janeiro, it kind of seems that some extreme weather conditions travel with us. 😬
